Pete, I think it's a great start, and thanks for all joining. If everyone does a bit in their area, it will definitely grow!!
Mike, Great to see you onboard. It was good to see you doing well in the strongman comps, I kept an eye on your results.
Look forward to meeting up again.

Alan, You'll gain so much advice and knowledge from your first comp - believe me.

Hi,
I am from Edinburgh but temporarily living in Melbourne, where we (capopowerlifting.com) just ran our first grip competition.
I have been training my grip for a few years but this was my first chance to compete in a grip comp. It was great fun and I think being part of this forum will be a great motivator.

Hello
Have just become a member of this site minutes ago.
I am a powerlifter (2 years) and have been into grip training on the side for a few years.
I was recenlty pursueded by Chris McCarthy to enter the Swindon grip comp and was gutted to hear it has just been cancelled. However it's given me the bug to take my grip work that bit more serious and to enter comps in the future.
I don't have much natrural grip strength but enjoy training my grip and get a kick out of competing, so its a no-brainer!
My focus at the moment is v-bar work, pinch gripping and to close a 2.5
All the best
Iain

Drop me a PM when you feel like coming round, I'm not in work for the moment, so I'm free pretty much anytime.
As for a training plan, you could do worse than follow the beginners workout I've posted (that David Horne wrote, I don't want to steal anyone's thunder), it gives a great all-round introduction to all things grip and gived a good foundation to prevent later injuries.
