This was intended to be a shorter/lighter workout as i have been a bit achey all week after doing the yoke on concrete and then squatting 2 days later. But losing some skin on my thumb shorted it even further. Oh..and it rained. Drought, my a*se! log military press 3x8x 75 kg 1x5x 77.5kg axle DO 2x105kg 1x115kg 1x125kg 1x130kg 1x132.5kg (Fail) 1x132.5kg (Gotcha!) 1x132.5kg (Fail) 1x132.5kg (Fail) 2HP 50kg 60kg 65kg 65kg 67.5kg -- lost skin on left thumb. Stopped my fun :0(. au.youtube.com/watch?v=NWkDiN36C8YI think 70kg will be there soon but I think the plate pinching is harder than the equivalent weight on a pinch block. I managed 76kg on the pinchblock but that seems outliandish on this setup. The 2 20kg plates are not super-tight either which does not help. 20kg block weight from heavygriptools Tried some block weight work. Plenty failures and lousy camera work but here is the 1st time I got the 20kg blockweight overhead au.youtube.com/watch?v=_eQ9tkRflYM biceps 3x21's with 3 strands on the Ironmind cables. Not very hardcore but my joints like it. Anyway I spotted a film on cable tv I HAVE to watch. It is 'zombie, zombie, zombie'. the writeup is ...'when a drug experiment goes wrong, producing a league of blood-thirsty zombies, it is up to a small band of exotic dancers trapped in a gentleman's club to fight back or they to may become victims.' ;D

Went to Doherty gym in Dandenong with friends to collect the stones (80,110,130,150)
DO deads Worked up to 1x175kg, which was a pb. Probably as the bar had better knurling and was not bent.
mixed grip deads 2x5x220kg Last rep on 2nd set was a really tough one. 230kg next time but not sets of 5.
carry drag Don't know the weight of the equipment here but did 3 runs with light sandbags and dragged a sled back.
tyre Again, don't know the weight but not very heavy and did a few sets of 3's and 5's.
stones Used the 90kg and 110kg on to a loading platform which I have not used before.
Then we had to get all the stones in to the back of a pickup...I needed help with the 130kg and loads help with the 150kg.

military press with oly bar 5x5x70kg
Took a bit of getting used to and there was some minor pain in the shoulder getting in to position.
pullups using olympic rings 1,2,3,4,1,2 1,2,3 1,fail.
Did these in the 'ladders' style I read about in a Pavel book.
pullup with v-handle 8xbdyweight.
seated db shoulder press 3x10x25kg
throwing did 12.5kg shot and also 7kg shot. Then some weight for distance. Got a nice looping attempt which was pretty good for me. Typically, the caribiner snapped on the next attempt and I had to come home!

Saving the hands for Sunday. Log press6x80kg -- was hoping for 8 3x80kg -- all wrong. lowered it unevenly, lost my tightness. 5x80kg 4x80kg Shoulder felt okay. log push press, each from floor 3x80kg All ugly. first one was all shoulders. Second one hit my chin(s)!. Third was the best. 64kg keg press 11 reps on one side au.youtube.com/watch?v=HO9vBOrRvpI10 on the other. au.youtube.com/watch?v=fBSpZWW-G3ITrying this for first time having seen it on youtube. Started off pretty laboured but got better with practice. The second set was a minute shorter. stones 110kg x 2 130kg x 2 150 x 0 First go with the new stones. Everything was a warmup for the 150kg, which is still beyond me. New stones were good though and great to have more than one weight at last.

It was comp day today and here are my thoughts...
DO Axle Got 129.954kg but failed 134.99 at the knees I think. Then tried again and hardly moved it. A bit disappointed as I thought I was good for 135kg. Maybe next time.
vulcan R=level8, L-level7. Exact same as in normal training so nothing special going on.
One hand lift 195.23kg with left hand was a pb. gives me hope that I can do the dinnies soon. also never damaged the skin, which was a bonus.
RT R=77.31kg but got 80.48kg almost to lockout but could not hold it. L = 75.03kg.
Pleased with the RT and it is only a little less than normal considering all the lifting that proceeded it.
Also, Matt got the 150kg stone loaded so he has inspired me to train a bit harder to catch him. Same goes for Ivan/Tristan who whooped me in the 1hand lift.

Might drop it for a while. dinnie replicas worked up to 170kg/130kg. Then tried 187.5/147.5lg and failed twice. This is the 2nd attempt. Managed to drift the front (187.5) ring across the floor a bit. au.youtube.com/watch?v=dqmTyWnXpBI

Sounded good. Then I saw this pregnant bald guy waddling about The best weight gain product in the world is a fulltime job, wife and kid. If you could bottle that...you could turn mice in to elephants! That issue is partly solved as I have been given a month's notice at my job. The work is being outsourced to India. Merry Christmas!! They did it with style though...by telephone. Classy! Then my mum calls from Scotland to tell me the heating in my flat has been condemed by British Gas because the ventilation is not up to standard. They bl**dy well fitted it!!!! So, it's 450 quid to do the ventilation properly. BUT....the boiler is old and might break down anytime...and they have limited parts...so it might be better to do the whole thing rather than waste 450. They recommend fitting a new boiler for 2500!!!! Just to make things even more complicated...we have a tenant in..and she has a young kid. What are they going to do for hot water in a Scottish winter while we wait for a fitter to do all the work? Oh yeah, and I have a cold!! It is enough to make me comfort-eat! Next thing...someone will tell me Santa does not exist!!! I am not sure what I will do if I don't wake up to find Angelina Jolie under my christmas tree with a mince pie and a glass of milk in her hand. Pretty poor workout and I spent most of it blowing my nose. ccs vulcan R = 3attempts with level8. All failed..and worse than usual L = 3attempts with level7. all failed..and worse than usual. narrower set than CCS R=5 attempts with level 8 and all were really close but failed. L=2 successes with level 7. Added a rubber band and got 2 more successes. Then failed with level 8. 2HP10 singles with 62.5kg A bit under the weather today. Showed in a poor gripper session which was max effort. The pinching went well but it was not max effort.

Nice news for xmas. Re the boiler etc. I'm half lucky in that one of the local lads can do the work for a tub of protein. Screw British Gas.
