Pete, We have had the Hub Lift champs for 2 years now. But I don't know how we can have a record on the event as Discs vary to hub lift with. I suppose we could use the Triple Hub from Stan Pike, as these would be all the same, and we've also used this in the Hub Champs.

David, I understand how it would be hard to have a record for this event, i am getting fairly strong with my hub on the plates i have, but unless there is a standardized plate that everyone can have and use in competition, it wouldn't be fair, would it? What is the triple hub? When you do the Hub Champs, do you use like the equivalent of a IM hub on a loading pin, or do you actually use a hub from a plate (like you say the Triple Hub), then stack smaller plates on top to vary the total? Cheers, Pete

The triple hub is a gadget made by Stan Pike of Intensefitness and MIGHT be included at some point. Ditto the IM hub but we'd need to settle on which grip. David has stated that the depth of the hub on plates varies a huge amount and so the idea of a standard plate is out.
We want support and input so I'm gonna suggest that you check out the two 'hubs' mentioned and make a case for inclusion. We'll need dimensions, use of the grip and which kind, how to score it and so on.

No lifts, oops! I guess there's nothing to stop you having a record on each different device, obviously plates are out. I suspect the IM hubs are more widely owned, but I like the fact that you can train different widths on the triple hub. Equally, if people wanted it, you could have records for both the 'vbar' and 'claw' style of lifting. I don't personally like the vbar style though.

The hub on my plates are too wide and shallow to do claw or vbar techniques really. i just use the top part of my fingers. These plates are Body Power plates i believe.

Hence the issue of variance and difference in grip. We have some of those plates here and on occasion I can hub lift the 15-kilos (Sam has as well) but the 20-kilo discs are too shallow.
You grip is claw style and I forget the name of the other style.
