I know it's not 2008 yet, but I've left all my grip stuff at home while I'm on holiday cos I can't leave it alone long enough to get the rest I need to recover from KTA, and lack of grip to do has got me thinking about my ambitions.
I thought I'd lay down my mission statement in black and white now, so there'll be no reneging on it later. So here goes:
I am going to do the push-up challenge: 1 push-up on day 1, then add 1 per day to a total of 366 by year's end.
I am going to do a sit up challenge: 10 sit ups on day 1, then add 2 per day to a total of 740 by year's end.
Do my best in the grip comp at my house on Jan 26th.
Complete 1 cycle of my own design KTA-inspired gripper program by 30th March.
Complete 1 cycle of KTA2 by 30th March.
Go to the (I'm assuming there's going to be one) Peter Horne Memorial grip comp, and if my hands/forarms aren't too fried from the gripper program and KTA2, compete.
Get a MINIMUM of a MM0 step on the ladder
Pull 125Kg on the RT
Pinch my PDA blobette at maximum weight to full deadlift
and finally... Coach Fred enough so he scares the wits out of David and Steve, if, and when, he goes up against them in competition![/b]
Well, that's me with egg on my face, I hope the rest of you are thinking about 2008 as well.

RT same as yesterday
Gold's Gym wrist exerciser alternating hands between sets, flexor 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 than to failure, extensor 15, 10, 5
PDA 262 5 solid CC closes R, 5 attempts L
30lb blob to full deadlift 5 L, 5 R with 2Kg added
2 push ups, man these things are killing me! I never liked them, I was never any good at them, and now I'm a fat old man they really take a lot of effort! I suppose they'll get easier as I get used to the movement though, after all, it's almost 15 years since I last did any.
12 sit ups, easy, arms are currently folded across chest, once I'm used to the movement again the numbers should start jumping rapidly and I might start adding weight (other than the cat!).
Inch dumbell trainer (shot loaded globe) currently weighs 91lbs. passed hand to hand twice.
25Kg Kettlebell, high passes from hand to hand 20, front to back (around the body) passes 20.
Went for a 30 min brisk walk.
Been 2 days without alcohol, feeling fine but appear to have forgotten how to fall asleep without booze to help.
Bodyweight 350lbs on the button, that's the heaviest I've ever weighed I've always joked about beig 350, never thought I'd actually get there! Embarassing, is what it is.

3 press ups, 14 sit ups, and a 40 minute walk today, might do some pinch work later, but I'm beginning to think I've pulled every muscle in my upper body!

Can I suggest that if you find you hit the wall as far as number of pressups go, try doing singles with a brief rest in between. Or ladder: 1,2,3,2,1 etc. You'll be able to do more reps this way and can eventually reduce the rest time between sets. Best of luck. oh, and where did you find the Inch trainer? Fancy one myself!

Cheers for the advice.
Got the inch trainer from a bloke in Durham, dunno where he got it, but I suspect Stan Pike may have been involved.

4 press ups, 16 sit ups and 2 40 minute walks to my driving theory test and back, passed the test with a score of 100%. Won an Inch and an Atlas Stone on ebay, so all in all a very productive day.

Day 5, 5 push ups, 18 sit ups.
Not done much grip today, but got Inch trainer to full deadlift righty, and full DL lefty but it tilted on the way up. It's got all my lead shot in it, and weighs 134lbs. Next time I train with it I'll be taping plates to the globes, I'll tape them on the side to increase the rotation, which should be good practice for the Inch I'll be picking up next Saturday, right before I pick up the Atlas stone.
Seeing as I'll be in Brum anyway, I'm taking my parents out for lunch; at some point the reason for me being there will come out, along with how much it cost, so expect me to have a black eye at the comp on the 26th, cos my Mum's got a right hand Ali's scared of! ;D

Still plugging away at the push and sit ups, but not done anything else as I've caught the Winter Vomiting Virus, which isn't nearly as nice as it sounds!

Got air under it the first time I pulled, ever since, nada, nothing, zip! It just spins in place like a top. Side note to any novice inch lifters TAKE ANY RINGS OFF! My wedding ring d**n near ripped my finger off!
Jason came roud for a session yesterday, didn't do a great deal, but finalised the details for the comp, after he'd gone and I was clearing the gear away something in my wrist went crunch, this morning my left wrist was twice the size of my right, took some ibuprofen, been icing it all day, and the swelling's gone down some, but it's still well painful.
As a result, I've not managed to do any push ups today, got the sit ups done tho.
