Apologies if all this has been discussed before.
Is there any merit to having BHSA grip records for each of the home nations?
Initially, many home nation records would be less than the UK records. This might make them good targets for lifters from a wide variety/background in strength sports.
Basically, the creation of the National records would be a device to encourage participation in grip comps.
If records don't exist for a particular home nation, then we could have a 'record setting' comp which would be promoted on the basis of setting a national record.
If we don't have a member from (say) Wales or N.Ireland we could post on their strength forums and ask if they fancy holding a 'record setting' comp.
We could simplify the issue of defining what/who is 'Scottish', 'English' etc by making the National records 'Best lift on Scottish/Eng/Wal/N.Ir soil'...'best lift in a scot/Eng/Wal/N.Ir' comp'.

James, Interesting, and maybe something for the future. But right now we don't have a massive amount of activity in the British records list.
Also there are many dual nationalities, ie. I'm born in Scotland, but have lived in England most of my life.
